Console Commands Added - 2 Comments

The main thing in this update that was added were console commands. Theres a general set of commands under the main Half-Life list of commands. These should work on the server for whatever game you're playing. However we have listed additional commands for other games that are specific to that game. This includes Client and Server based commands. Theres also a great way mentioned on how you can look up commands in steam. Even if you dont run a server you can easily look up some variables which will tweek your performance. We'll probably have a guide posted soon about tweeking performance (both connection and hardware wise).
Last notes: HalfLife 2 Deathmatch section created as well as Counter-Strike Source and Condition Zero areas. We've also posted a Server mods/scripts section for those of you who are looking to spice up your servers. A lot of the scripts listed in here will work with any mod.

Thats right folks. Its still early, and its far from perfect, but to prove a point that it can be done, there is a new version of the mulitplayer addon for Half Life 2.
Details
If that doesn't work for ya, head over to HL2Files.com, and you'll find it there.
I've tried this in the co-op mode, and sure it works but there is alllll sorts of problems. So if your serious about it, wait until the official release of SvenCo-Op is released for HL2

HL2 Vehicles Exposed! & TFC Reborn - 0 Comments
Posted By Matrix223 at Wed 30 Mar 2005, 2:21 PM
!Exclusive! I have acquired information from an undisclosed source, regarding drivable vehicles in Halflife 2.
Valve have only so far shown off the Buggy, which was demonstrated on the beach demos, well GameGate2k is proud to unveil that there is another 4wheeled drivable vehicles available in the game as well as a Jetski and what is described as a AirBoat, which is more than likely to be a Hovercraft.
The source is extremely reliable, and considering the screenshots that have been released depicting canals and waterways, a JetSki is extremely likely as a method of transport in these areas.
As for the Airboat/Hovercraft, considering we know that the game features a dried ocean bed as a setting for a level, this is a very interesting development.
All of the vehicles will benefit from the advanced phsyics engine of Source, taking advantage of such elements as different gears and even Torque!
Also on the whole Team Fortress front, TFC will be released at the same time as Half-Life 2, and will include all the Classes in the first version, as well as an award scheme after each match, a bit like the award system that was in Goldeneye, 'Most Deadly, Favourite Weapon' etc.

Half-Life 2 Leak Saga Continues... - 0 Comments
Posted By Matrix223 at Wed 30 Mar 2005, 2:19 PM
Much as we love Valve, we do wonder if they smashed a few mirrors whilst running under rows of ladders and rubbing black cats against their faces sometimes. Having managed to avoid major calamity since the infamous Half-Life 2 source code theft late last year, now it appears that the developer has accidentally uploaded a file containing all of the dialogue from Half-Life 2 to Counter-Strike: Source beta testers, according to reports originating with fansite HL2World.com.
Fortunately for Valve, this leak seems to be a bit more contained than the last one. The only people testing CS: Source at the moment should be subscribers to Valve's Cyber Café programme and various selected members of the press, but with a little searching these people will be able to uncover the dialogue, which is embedded in a .gcf file that was preloaded by content delivery system Steam along with the beta.
Since .gcf files aren't meant to be opened, presumably Valve imagined nothing would happen - but it seems that some modders have used the HL2 source leak and other means to reverse engineer the format and rip out the script, which contains numerous spoilers about the game including its surprise ending.
At the moment, Valve has yet to comment on the leak - or even confirm it - but a number of gamers have contacted Eurogamer claiming to have the document. If indeed the leak is confirmed, the only real comfort the developer can take from it is that it was identified at this stage of the CS: Source beta - before owners of Condition Zero and ATI coupons were given access to the game. With any luck, that's enough time to strip out the offending data and avoid widespread distribution.
According to most recent reports, Half-Life 2 is on track to go gold later this month and should be released worldwide in September at retail and over content delivery system Steam

Half Life 2 Release Date - 0 Comments
Posted By Matrix223 at Wed 30 Mar 2005, 2:18 PM
!Exclusive! Proud to announce that this site can reveal when Halflife 2 will hit stores, Gabe Newell has stated that there isnt any date yet set, but a trip to my local GameStation store, and they had large Gordon Freeman cut-outs and leaflets stating its to be released 'November 04' , they are also taking pre-orders now, I will try and scan and upload the leaflet I have got.
Also Valve have stated that Half-Life 2 is being tested for bugs and will be finished in the next week or so, this probably indicates that its the publisher that is holding back the game for the Christmas peroid and not valve.
